Parents for Inclusive Education www.arisecoalition.org P.I.E, a parent-run special education advocacy group, and ARISE, a diverse group of organizations and individuals who have come together to provide a voice on behalf of students with special needs, are co-sponsoring this event. Both organizations work towards making sure that NYC special education students receive a free and appropriate education and that special education students are included in their school communities. We want to hear from you, the PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS! Our mission is guided by listening and hearing what you believe are the needs within the Special Education System. Our Mission
The Children's School, PS. 372, founded in 1992, continues to be groundbreaking in its educational philosophy and practice. It is the only elementary school in New York City where all children, from pre-K to fifth grade, work side by side throughout the school day with classmates who have a range of abilities and disabilities.
This innovative model is called "Inclusion." The Children's School is a unique collaborative effort between Region 8 and the city-wide District 75 that oversees special education programs. Currently, our school serves a diverse group of approximately 600 children at The Children's School location and at MS 113, located in Fort Green.
